Always striving to better her best creations, Kayla has created something beyond comparison. Beyond description. Something so awe inspiring it can only be called one thing.
4 meats, 3 cheeses, scrambled egg, hash browns and chipotle sauce all on whole grain grilled wheat bread. Arby’s “Meat Mountain” can not even compare to this deliciously created collection of calories. She grilled the ham with the Swiss cheese, and the Turkey with the Provolone. The American cheese melted to the scrambled eggs and bacon completing 3 levels of brilliant flavor combinations only to have the sausage, hash browns and chipotle sauce added in for that little something special.
Kayla with a “K” totally out did herself this morning, and because of it I shall never look at pancakes the same. Bacon Pancakes. Yes, that’s right. She made Bacon Pancakes.
Take pancakes, add bacon while cooking, drizzle with maple syrup, and launch yourself into the most blissful breakfast experience known to man.

At @Applebee’s the Triple Bacon Burger is not a triple stacked bacon cheeseburger, as you might expect. Rather it is a bacon cheeseburger with triple the bacon. Well, not actually triple, but they do trump the typical slices of bacon on top by also cooking bacon into the burger and including a bacon ranch sauce underneath.
First take? It’s a good bacon cheeseburger. I like the bun, the bacon was tasty, cheddar a good choice of cheeses. It did not seem as overwhelmingly bacon as I might have expected, or even hoped for though. The bacon ranch sauce was either too mild, or forgotten, as I really didn’t notice it at all.
What this all means is that I have to try it again. Did my stacking excessive pickles on my burger take away from the bacon flavor? Should I have asked for extra bacon ranch sauce? I will be sure to update this review with the answers to these questions, and more….
It’s Smoke & Pepper…
Yes, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers is a rather pretentious name for a burger chain, but I ask you to set aside any preconceived bias you may have and give this uniquely delightful offering a try. The Smoke & Pepper Burger is not your father’s Red Robin burger, that while good, was also comparable to so many similar chain establishments. No, the Smoke & Pepper Burger is a bacon cheeseburger with a twist. A few in fact, and all fit perfectly together.
From the sharp cheddar, heavily peppered bacon and unique spicy ketchup to the for once appropriate use of a ciabatta roll, it supplies a truly unique experience. Now maybe it just happens to be the exact combination of flavors that thrills my tastebuds most, or maybe you will also be delighted with this true Gourmet Cheeseburger.
I had an all around exemplary experience, with a surprisingly delightful meal and and an equally pleasant waitress. Kim was perfectly attentive, sincere and friendly without being pushy or overbearing in any way. I will make a note to ask for her section when I next visit Red Robin for another Smoke & Pepper Burger.

@HungryHowies lets you have both at once. Check out their Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger Pizza and enjoy the best of both worlds.
They offer a variety of flavored crusts, but the Onion is the perfect match for this treasure. Much like a bacon cheeseburger on an onion bun!
If there is one thing you can always count on, it’s Kayla’s culinary creativity. Having already perfected the Breakfast Burrito and created a Desert Breakfast, she moved on to something new. What she calls “Breakfast Nachos”, which are far more of a brunch for two. They would make a perfect match to a quiet Sunday and a pitcher of Bloody Mary. So much so in fact I could almost taste the Bloody Mary while I devoured them. Complete with bacon, sausage, egg, cheese, and a hash brown garnish served over fried tortilla chips, there is enough food here to summon a food coma from the perkiest of patrons. The combination of Chipotle sauce and hot sauce liven it all up nicely and increase the suggestion that a Bloody Mary should be included.
Now I just wonder how she does with a Bloody Mary…….
After a breakfast of Raspberry Pop-Tarts I decided to change things up for lunch. How about Bacon Cheese Dogs with Bertman’s Horseradish sauce?
I know Bob will not approve as the cheese came out of a jar, but it is Oscar Meyer Real Bacon Bits on top, so that should be worth something.
